Scientists have created super-strong mice and worms by suppressing a genome regulator (NcoR1). This resulting breed of mice had muscles twice as strong as normal mice and were able to endure running for double the amount of time. Discovery of this gene mechanism gives way to future treatments for age/genetic-related muscle degeneration. However, many believe this sort genetic manipulation would attract abuse by athletes and much scrutiny from medical experts.
