Penicillin Doses for Children Should Be Reviewed, Say Experts

A team of scientists and professors believe that guidelines for penicillin need to be reevaluated. This may be because the standards have not be reevaluated in the last 50 years. Penicillin does not take into account the increase in an average child's weight (as penicillin doses are based on child weight). The main issue is proscribing an overdose or underdose of penicillin, which needs to be avoided.
