Pap Smear vs. HPV Test


A new study has found that HPV testing may benefit women over thirty. HPV tests have been proven to be more sensitive in detecting the presence of high-risk viruses in the cervix that could go on to become cancerous. A proposed idea is to use HPV as a primary screen for cervical cancer and then use the pap smear test as a follow-up.
