A new report by the National Institutes of Health claims most, but not all, biomedical experiments on chimpanzees are unnecessary. As of May 2011, there were 937 chimps in American research centers. This report is the result of the controversy on whether it is morally acceptable and scientifically useful to use chimps in invasive experiments.
