Mapping human brain with advanced technology

The article involved mapping the human brain with advanced technology and assessment tools. The research had to do with assessing gene expression in the human brain using microarrays and fluorescent tagging as to discover which genes are expressed at certain areas within the brain by assess proteins of brain slices. One very interesting application of this research is understanding the implications of drugs. Assessing which proteins are targeted by drugs can determine the effects of drugs on genomic expression or inhibition, which can give detailed side effect profiles or information on how drugs effect change. These gene microarrays in the brian allows other researchers to assess the effect of where genes are turned on in addition to which genes are turned on.
