Coke and Pepsi Try For Greener Packaging

Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have extended their competition in brands to the environmental realm. Each has made claims about their companies' intentions to create bottles entirely out of plants, but it is becoming clear that those plans are very long term and may not be realized at all. Coca-Cola, however, has announced that its bottles will be 30% plant based. Still, they were clear that 100% plant based bottles would only be generated when the company could prove them to be cost effective. That is ultimately the main thing keeping these bottles off shelves still, cost effectiveness.
