This New York Times article talks about the upcoming drop in funding for renewable energy research and innovation. In about two weeks, tax cuts and stimulus programs will be through, leaving what to do with renewable energy subsidies a big question. It seems as if the writer has a bias with the side of the argument that would rather have the subsidies cut for renewable energy such as solar and wind. She spends most of the article talking about the economic loss from investing in renewable energy projects and doesn’t speak at all of the consequences of dropping such important funding. She also uses very opinionated quotes to support the dropping the funding argument, such as
“Government is never going to be able to subsidize enough to make solar and other green-tech technologies take a place in significant energy production,” Mr. Nelson said.
