Unusual partnership unites Parkinson’s and dance: One slowly takes away, the other gives back


A couple with Parkinson’s disease has taken up dance lessons at Hubbard Street in Chicago in order to cope with the disease that faces both the wife and husband. Although the majority of the purpose is to get their minds off of the disease, many wonder if dance could be a treatment. Parkinson’s currently cannot be treated; however, dance sparks the emotional parts of the brain that may be able to bypass the damaged brain cells affected by the disease.
