Tinkering in the Womb: The Future of Fetal Surgery.

According to Dr. Alan Flank, a fetal surgeon at a major children's hospital, the act of slicing through a mothers abdomen to perform surgery on an unborn infant will be nonexistant in the next 20 years, and that he thinks it will be viewed as "neanderthal". He describes the future of fetal treatment is really the application of stem cells and gene therapy. This is extremely interesting, as it is still such a developing area of medicine.
