Summary: They believe this new plate icon could very well
replace the food pyramid because it is easier to understand. They say half of
your plate should be filled with fruits and vegetables, and whole grains and
lean protein on the other half. There should also be low-fat dairy on the side.
They believe this new display of eating healthy balanced meals could help with
the high obesity rates.
