Pig-induced Pluripotent Stem Cells May be Safer than Previously Thought
Scientists have shown that there are 13 specific pigs that apparently share an interesting characteristic. Adult-formed stem cells don't form tumors in pigs! that has always been a problem beforehand because pluripotent stem cells have always been forming tumors in their patients. The absence of tumor formation in these pigs suggests that stem-cells can safely incorporate into tissues without tumor formation.the next step would be to observe exactly what the conditions are that don't cause tumors, and try to replicate them in humans. IF that could be done, then humans could have pluripotent stem cells in them without any fear.
