NYC Efforts to Reduce Child Obesity Are Slowly Working
Measures made by NYC
to reduce obesity in children might be working, according to statistics taken
of obese children in the NYC area. Since eliminating trans fats from
restaurants, and creating regulations mandating improved nutrition, increased
play time or physical activity, and less time in front of the TV, percentages
of obese children in various age groups and socio-economic groups have dropped
an average of 2%.
