Nasty Germs in Cookie Dough

We have always been told to not eat raw cookie dough but have done so anyway.  This new study may change that.  A new report finds nasty germs in ready to bake cookie dough.  According to the report, raw ready-to-bake cough dough caused 77 people in 30 states to beocme ill, 35 of which had to be hospitalized.   E-Coli was found in the cookie dough and led to the recall of 3.6 million packages.  Flour doesn't undergo the same kind of special processing to kill pathogens like eggs, molasses, sugar, margarine, and baking soda do.  Cookie dough in ice cream is safe because it is meant to be consumed raw as it is a "ready to eat" product.
