Immunity Against the Cold
"Throughout the interior spaces of humans and other warm-blooded
creatures is a special type of tissue known as brown fat, which may hold
the secret to diets and weight-loss programs of the future." An interesting article detailing "brown fat" which apparently burns calories to heat the body. In response to the cold, a little something known as macrophages, can switch on the brown fat, inducing it to burn energy to make heat. This is one of the processes which keeps mammals and small critters warm in the cold. Mastering this process could provide a better immunity to the cold.
