Children's Cardiac Assist Device

The EXCOR Pediatric System was made in Germany. It has recently been approved by the FDA (food and drug association). It's a pulstile mechanical circulatory support device that can keep children alive until a suitable donor heart can be found. It's made in many different sizes ranging from use by newborns to use by adolescents.
The EXCOR Pediatric System carries a risk of stroke and the serious brain damage that may come with it. However, the FDA decided that the benefits of this device outweigh the risks.
