According to the UN climate change council in South Africa, 2012 is going to be a very bad year for renewable energy. Renewable energy companies are scared about the potential lack of governmental support: the Production Tax Credit, an incentive to make renewable energy, is set to expire in 2012 (although the solar energy portion isn't set to expire until 2016).
