WHO reports that the number of declining global risk of tuberculosis


According to the "Agency" report, the World Health Organization Global Tuberculosis Control Report 2011, global annual number of people suffering from tuberculosis has decreased the number of patients died of tuberculosis last year, has fallen to 10-year low.
The report shows that in 2005 a total of 900 million people worldwide suffer from tuberculosis, tuberculosis patients suffering from last year fell to 880 million people worldwide died of tuberculosis in 2003 patients with a total of 180 million, last year dropped to 140 million people.
Statistics showed that from 1990 to 2010, died of tuberculosis patients worldwide by 40%, preliminary estimates suggest that the region outside Africa, 2015 of tuberculosis mortality can be reduced to 50%.
However, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that even if the world died of tuberculosis in patients with significantly reduced, but not complacent.
World Health Organization (WHO) said the Secretary-General, Dr Margaret Chan, the risk of tuberculosis and mortality improved significantly, primarily because the world's major advanced countries invest much effort and cost, making the risk of tuberculosis and the mortality rate was significantly changed.
However, WHO also pointed out that prevention and treatment of tuberculosis is still the most difficult problems in funding, prevention and treatment of tuberculosis in 2012 estimated funding gap still $ 1 billion, 200 million funding gap in the requirements for the purchase of drugs.
In addition, rampant AIDS in Africa, AIDS patients suffering from tuberculosis of the probability for the average person 34 times, last year a total of 1.1 million AIDS patients infected with tuberculosis, 82%, nearly 90 million cases occur in Africa
