Flu Shots Less Effective Than Thought

Studies show that what was once a very beneficial vaccine now does not have as much protection as medical professionals had thought. The flu vaccine has recently been shown to go down in it's protection level. Once claiming it protected 70-80 percent now shows a dramatic decrease to 59 percent. Although, the vaccine is changed annually with the change in the flu string, it is not protecting like it was believed to. Researchers hope that this new finding does not discourage people to skip their shots.

"This is more like these vaccines are an iPhone 1.0. We need an iPhone 10.0." But until it's available, he said, "you don't throw the 1.0 away."
