The discovery of Australopithecus sediba by Dr. Lee Berger's 9-year old son, Matthew, in 2008 may be changing the way we think about our human ancestry. Some scientist now believe that the species Australophithecus sediba are the most likely known ancestor of both ancient and modern humans. Other scientist disagree. Australopithecus sediba are relatives of the well-known "Lucy" fossil (Australopithecus afarensis) discovered in Ethiopia's Afar Depression in 1974. To read more about this, follow this link:
